Hoopaa! Budapest band Cimbaliband play insanely dynamic Hungarian and Balkan folk tunes, with spark-emitting fiddle melodies and cheeky songs sung by Hungarian X Factor winner Dora Danics, underpinned by the unmistakeable bright bounce of the cimbalom, a kind of crazy hammered open piano. With Swing and Gypsy influences and a contemporary approach to traditional music, Cimbaliband exude positive energy and larger-than-life cabaret style. Tickets £17.50 in advance including booking fee. Doors open 7pm live music starts 8.30pm Mainly standing. There are limited seating possibilties first come first served.
This is the band’s London debut show. "a headlong and authentically clunky clash of Hungary's thriving rock n' roll party scene with traditional Magyar, Roma and Serb folk music" fROOTS Magazine
