Today brought the galling news that David Bowie had died from a battle with cancer, days after his 69th birthday and the release of his staggering 27th album, Blackstar.
The tributes have been pouring in and Filipino graphic designer Eisen Bernard released this series of images. They depict the Thin White Duke's magazine covers mixed with a number of art grandees, such as Titian and Botticelli.
Whether Bernard is placing Bowie amongst their ranks or commenting on classical vs. popular styles of art, it's open to interpretation.
