After years of speculation on whether or not the old maestro would bring his 17th century man-on-a-mission movie to life, we finally get our first look at Martin Scorsese's Silence. After three decades of delays and pushbacks, the trailer for the Shusaku Endo adaption looks as if it might actually have been worth the wait.
Staring the likes of Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, and the Christ-like figure Liam Neeson (if Jesus had punched more people), Silence follows Garfield’s Father Sebastião Rodrigues as he travels upstream to uncover the disappearance of Neeson’s spiritual leader, who was spreading the word of God across Japan during the Edo period.
