A Massachusetts man appropriately named Sandcastle Matt is behind these works of art. Using found objects like vines, plywood, and other junk he creates a rigid framework to which he applies a "drip method" sandcastle technique, which results in these great temporary sculptures.
One of Matt’s sandcastles recently made the rounds in a viral meme that suggested his work was the result of lightning striking sand, but Scientific American stepped in and told the internet they were idiots. See more of his castles right here.
