ANTHROPOMORPHIC MOUSE TAXIDERMY CLASS

Written by Meadows Hulme
07 Monday 07th October 2013

This workshop will provide participants with the chance to recreate the magic of Walter Potter. All materials – including a mouse for each student–will be provided, and each class member will leave at the end of the day with their own taxidermied mouse. Students are invited to bring any miniature items with which they might like to dress or decorate their new friend; some props and miniature clothing will also be provided by the teacher. A wide variety of sizes and colours of mice will be available.

NEW DATES - Autumn 2013:

October 13th, afternoon

October 18th, evening

October 25th, evening

December 6th, evening

December 13th, evening

December 20th, evening

The class is intended for beginners and no former taxidermy experience is required.

Margot Magpie
Margot Magpie has been practicing taxidermy in London for 2 years. She does taxidermy demonstrations at various parties and events, makes props for museums and theatre productions. Shannon blogs about taxidermy at Of Corpse: Adventures in Taxidermy, as well as sells hand-made vintage-inspired fascinators incorporating victorian-inspired taxidermy at her online shop Forgotten Feline Taxidermy and Couture.

NOTES:
• All mice are ethically sourced and were not killed for this class. The mice used are feeder animals for snakes and lizards and would literally be discarded if not sold.
• NO dangerous chemicals will be used and all animals are disease free.
• Please be advised that this class is not for the faint hearted. There will be minimal blood and gore, but taxidermy is not for everyone.
• Please do not bring any dead animals with you to the class
