Programme highlights include Wild Tales, a dark comedy by Argentine director Damian Szifron (and produced by the Almodovar Brothers), which was a hit at Cannes earlier this year and sold over 2 million tickets in its native country.
We’re particularly sold on Living Stars, a new documentary by Mariano Cohn and Gaston Duprat, which shows dozens of real people from all walks of life, identified only by name and occupation, throwing shapes to a dance track of their choice - one that apparently ‘demands to be seen with a crowd’.
The festival will be held at the Hackney Picturehouse and the Ritzy cinema in Brixton. Make sure you head over to the Gallery Bar at the Hackney Picture House in order to sink a few at the dedicated Argentine wine bar, which will be serving hand picked local wines alongside tango performances from the Tango Light dancers. A much needed splash of sunshine in the cold winter months.
For tickets and more info, head over to the Argentine Film Festival website. Head over to our Win section for the chance to win two tickets for the opening night.
