For a person whose face you may not immediately recognise, the guy smiling in the above photo has had a fairly tumultuous career. In case you hadn't yet realised, the dude is H from 90s pop group Steps. Their steep ascent and inevitable plummet to the depths of cheesy pub discos, budget cruises, provincial pantos and the reality TV carousel must have been hard enough for the former members of the group.
Yet things were even worse for H, after he had to endure the collateral damage caused by his namesake and fellow Welshman, Ian Watkins - former lead singer of Lost Prophets.
After coming out in the public eye and watching your career crash and burn on Saturday night TV, learning that you share your name with a terrible nonce must have really taken the biscuit. It looks as if he took to painting to remedy the hardship, because a gallery in Wales will be hosting an exhibition of Ian 'H' Watkins' work.
At first glance, it doesn't even look that bad:
They seem fairly evocative of Watkins' north Wales home don't you think?
The exhibition is held at Ffin y Parc Gallery, Llanrwst, from March 29. Check out the website for more details
