Speaking of which...
Battersea Spanish aim to create a community where Londoners can not only learn Spanish, but interact with native speakers, while enjoying the best of Latin film, literature, art, dance, and food. There’s already a thriving Spanish Film night hosted at the Doodle bar every first Tuesday of the month. And if you prefer the page to the screen, there’s also a Spanish book club every last Friday of the month.
But that’s not all. They’ve hosted a Pop-Up Ceviche restaurant for over 150 happy eaters, a Milanga for London’s Tango community, a throbbing Salsa night, as well as cookery lessons for Spanish and Mexican Cuisine. And they are just getting going.
This January they expect hundreds of Londoners to flock South of the River and enrol in this growing and welcoming community, and we reckon that should include all the chicos/chicas reading this.
Only minutes from Clapham junction, Battersea Spanish is a short commute for any central Londoner, so there is no excuse not to trade in dry grammar books and lonely apps for a café con leche, a warm and professional teacher, and taste of Latin life in London.
