BIT OF A DON

Photographs that conjure a sense of immediacy, poignancy and objectivity perhaps live with us the longest: those gritty and pictorial glimpses of everyday existence, devoid of sensationalism and scandal in favour of sentimentality and sympathy. Perhaps one of the best photo-journalists to capture such images, from everywhere between London, the Levant and beyond, is Don McCullin. I find his images speak louder than words. So I’ll stop here – and let you have a look:

A few of you may have caught the semi-autobiographical documentary on his life recently on the BBC. If you missed it, fear not: the iPlayer is your saviour.

Don't Panic attempt to credit photographers and content owners wherever possible, however due to the sheer size and nature of the internet this is sometimes impractical or impossible. If you see any images on our site which you believe belong to yourself or another and we have incorrectly used it please let us know at panic@dontpaniconline.com and we will respond asap.
