Everyone who uses the internet has probably been confronted by the ramblings of a more enlightened contemporary. The black sheep who goes against the flow by posting pictures and infographics that counter the official unfolding of significant events like 9/11. But seeing how information flows untrammeled across cyberspace, they probably have no idea where these theories originated, nor any clue as to how they've gestated, altered or totally changed over time.
The artist Edward Shenk has sent up this misinformation in a series of familiar looking memes. Poorly shopped images of political figures sit within black borders, surrounded by nonsensical info about false flags and conspiracy theories. The point being that the more information we have, the more likely it is to devolve into complete absurdity.
