London-based postgraduate student Gideon Summerfield created the project Love The Stranger As Yourself in 2016, an illustrative series based around refugees he encountered in Cardiff (where he studied his undergrad degree) and London. Summerfield's work was based in Cardiff's Oasis Refugee Centre, where refugees and migrants from areas like Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan have been supported since the centre's beginning in 2008, as well as London's Alyth Synagogue, who've helped people fleeing violence since the 1930s. The creator states his aim was to 'empower a community of people who perhaps don't have a voice'; you can check out much more of Summerfield's work here.
