A few years back I was told about The Uncanny Valley. From my feeble understanding, the hypothesis claims that the more realistic an imitation of a human, the less real it looks. Now consider the work of Kazuhiro Tsuji, a Hollywood make-up artist who moonlights as a sculptor.
His busts are only unreal in that their flesh isn't actually warm, and in relation to the aforementioned theory, I have entered the Uncanny Valley, dug foundations and set up permanent residence in a house of my nightmares.
Check out more of his work on Kazuhiro Tsuji's website.
