Obviously this is in New York and therefore inaccessible to most of you guys, but tomorrow Suzanne Geiss gallery in New York will be opening a new exhibition featuring a series of nude 35mm portraits of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and it'd probably be worth a trip if we were in the area. The photographs were taken by filmmaker and photographer Paige Powell during her two year relationship with the painter in the early '80s, and document him as he appeared to her - relaxed and vulnerable, often while "drawing while watching cartoons."
We're not going to make it to the exhibiton, so in lieu of that, here's Basquiat with Andy Warhol in 1986:
