Founded in 2015, Desert X is an initiative aimed at turning California's Coachella Valley into a creative hub and emphasising the area's many attributes to visitors. This year's edition started on 25th February and runs until 30th April, you can find out more info here. In her contribution to the project, Visible Distance/Second Sight, visual artist Jennifer Bolande has created billboards which advertise the area's natural beauty, with some billboards blending perfectly into the environment. It's interesting to appropriate the form, so often a blight on the landscape, and reconcile it with its surroundings. Check out Jennifer's work below:
