KEROUAC'S ON THE ROAD AS AN ILLUSTRATED SCROLL

When Truman Capote was asked to comment on Jack Kerouac's On The Road, he reportedly said, 'that's not writing, that's typing.'

Well, thanks to Paul Rogers, now the novel is illustrated too. The artist is currently in the process of drawing every page of the book, and I've included a few below. You can see the rest here.

I'll always remember this passage from On The Road. In 1957, Jim Crow laws still existed, African-Americans were lynched on a weekly basis, and the Civil Rights Act wouldn't be passed for another seven years. No wonder Jack yearned for a break from the comforts of the white world.

Fucking idiot.
