'LILY PADS' LONDON INSTALLATION YOU CAN CONTROL WITH YOUR PHONE

08 Thursday 08th January 2015

A new Winter Lights installation in Jubilee Park allows passers-by to control it with their phones.

Created by London based multi-media artist Ela Brunel Hawes, the piece titled ‘Lily Pads’ is a collection of magical colour changing lily pads floating through the water.

People can connect their phones to The Lily Pad Wifi Network and then use the online tool to interact with the art and change the lily pads to whatever colour they want.

Ela Brunel Hawes says, ‘I’m aiming to create a sense of ore and a playful piece which transcends itself in light and colour. It’s an interactive piece which then conveys a serene mood using nature and the elements as influence.’

Lily Pad is commissioned by the Canary Wharf Group’s public art programme and will be lighting up London between the 5th to 30th of January.
