Matt Shlian is a Connecticut-born paper engineer and artist who is currently presenting a solo show in Florida's Gulf State University until 2nd March. His work is made up of large scale yet intricately folded paper sculptures, usually in monochrome but sometimes branching out into different colours and textures. Shlian has collaborated with scientists - which he discusses here - and draws inspiration from fields such as Arabic tile patterning, architecture, music and more. You can check out some of his pieces below and much more on his website.
