Atelier Montpelier is a traditional sculpture atelier employing pre-industrial hand techniques for the realisation of beautiful objects. Thus reads the manifesto of a new artspace created by sculptors Paul and Deborah.  Situated in the very unique Picton Street, in the heart of Montpelier, it occupies the former site of an ornamental plaster works.  Paul and Deborah have transformed the original workshop, making everything from the traditional purlin roof structure to the solid oak windows, doors and work benches, using traditional tools and techniques. "It's a work in progress.  It's important to us that we create the right vibration in which to work."

Atelier Montpelier will function as their own sculpture studio, where they'll be making work for exhibition and to commission.  They'll also be running courses, workshops and master classes, starting with Mould-Making in May.
