NO PRESSURE: FRANCES BEAN COBAIN, AND OTHER DOOMED KIDS WHO FOLLOW THEIR PARENTS INTO ART

Last week, Kurt Cobain's 24-year old daughter Frances Bean opened a new art exhibition in California, entitled Ghosts for Sale. Within days of opening, all seven pieces in the collection had sold out, fetching between $1,200 and $4,500 a piece.

Now, of course - aesthetic value is a complex and subjective thing. But looking over the pieces now, one can't help but feel that her father's status as one of the greatest musical minds of late-20th century may have played some part in the exhibition's whirlwind success.

So take a look at the exhibition pieces below, and compare them with the works of four other artists who may or may not have benefitted from a healthy splash of artistic nepotism.

Frances Bean Cobain (daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love)

Drawings that look suspiciously like the pubescent sketches on my old school textbooks.

James McCartney (son of Paul McCartney)

Once said he "dreamt of being better than The Beatles". Modest and talented, then.

Trace Cyrus (son of Billy Ray Cyrus, brother of Miley Cyrus)

Sings and plays both guitar and bass in the band Metro Station. Remember them?

Jaden and Willow Smith (son and daughter of Will Smith)

No intro necessary. Pray for this family.

Reginae Carter (daughter of Lil Wayne)

Sang in the now defunct teen girl group, OMG Girlz. The world still reels from their disbandment.
