November the 27th sees the beginning of an exhibition curated by Peter Blake showcasing his seminal series ‘Side Show’, a collection of wood-engravings which is evidence of his nostalgia for the circus and side shows, as well as the ephemera of these popular entertainments. The work will be displayed for the first time together with photographs, proofs, studies and drawings from Blake’s personal archive highlighting the inspiration, process and genesis of the work.
The exhibition held at the Paul Stolper Gallery marks the launch of two new highly detailed etchings by the 82 year old Dartford born artist. A wrestler and a tattooed girl. These reveal an entirely new medium and style in Blake's oeuvre.
'Side Show' runs from November 27th to January 10th. For more info check out the website.
