John William Keedy suffers from a diagnosed anxiety disorder. Like many disorders related to mental health, it can be hard for him to describe the effects of it to other people, or to even convince them it exists. Keedy, a San Antonio-based photographer, decided to depict his condition by transforming the banal features of everyday life into telling symbols of neurosis.

Some of the images of It's Hardly Noticeable are extremely subtle, while other metaphors are a tad clunky. However, The project really succeeds when a photo almost makes you recoil in teeth-grinding revulsion. I have to look at the toothpick photo above through covered eyes. Bleurgh.
