Fifty years on from its release, Alfred Hitchcock’s cinematic masterpiece Psycho will come to life with a full live orchestral backing at Colston Hall on Thursday 10th audiences to one of the most dramatic musical scores of all time.
Colston Hall is inviting Bristol to check into the Bates Motel where Hitchcock’s gripping film will be screened in a one off immersive musical experience, led by the British Sinfonietta orchestra. Todd Wills, head of programming at Colston Hall explains,
“Hitchcock’s classic Psycho is an iconic film in so many ways, not least because of its soundtrack. The power of Bernard Hermann’s spine-tingling score was recognised by Hitchcock early on and he even put the director’s name before his own in the credits. To hear it performed live is a rare treat.”
Shocking and delighting audiences in equal measure when it first hit the big screen, Psycho is now celebrated as one of Hitchcock’s finest cinematic works. For one ticket price, see one of the greatest thrillers of all time and experience a renowned live orchestra performing one of the most iconic scores in cinema history.
