Earlier this year, Andrew Shannon chanelled his contempt for the state through his fist, by firmly planting it into a £7.8 million Monet in the National Gallery in Ireland. Although Shannon initially said he felt faint, CCTV proved otherwise, depicting him delivering a deliberate hook into the canvas before slumping over like a drunk philistine.
Shannon was sentenced to five years earlier this month.
Because there are people out there who should really put their IT skills to better use, someone has created a game that lets you punch the painting for yourself, in DOOM fps style. The awful controls mimic Shannon's flailing movements, which is a nice touch.
Play Punch a Monet here.
