Terms like 'amazing' are tossed around like confetti these days. But I will confidently say that the below footage, shot by SURFING Magazine, is amazing. Filmed on a drone, the edit features a recent swell at Teahupoo in Tahiti. Apart from spying on international terrorists, I can't think of a better use for drones than surfing.
How else could we get so close to something as magnificent as these waves, without actually riding them? From the drone's vantage, we see the fearsome proximity of the iridescent reef below. We capture the minute differences between riding the wave to the end and the lip pounding the surfer into the black. At some points, it even seems to show the curvature of the bloody earth.
