SURREALIST ROTHSCHILD PARTY FROM 1972

Fancy dress parties can be a bit of a drag. You don't know how much effort to make, if at all. There's nothing worse than turning up dressed in the full Freddy Kruger outfit to see the next best thing is someone wearing a 'funny' hat. Marie-Hélène de Rothschild didn't want this problem so made the theme very easy, black tie and long dresses- oh, and surrealist heads. Many people these days may struggle with the concept of a surrealist head, but it turns out people from 1972 didn't. The clientele was full of the Parisien high society and included Audrey Hepburn and Salvador Dali, and it looked like they all had a riot. The weirdos.
