If your hair is permanently styled by the pillow and your preferred look is 'pushed to the side a bit', then you need to get down to the 71a gallery tonight or tomorrow. Electric California (you know them for their shades) are hosting a barbershop pop-up in the Shoreditch space, where legendary barber Paul Hewitt will be trimming unruly mops - for free.
Paul is the founder of AONO, a Brighton-based streetwear brand (and barbershop of course) influenced by the tattoo and barbering industries. Along with his millimetre-perfect cuts, Paul is known for his uncompromising personal style. Combine the two and you've got the basis for some pretty striking imagery, so the event will also see an exhibition AONO's 3 Lenses photography show.
Head down for the opening party today (July 29), 7-11pm for booze, tunes and a trim. The exhibition is open 10am-7pm both Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30. The below photos are by James Hole, whose work will be exhibited at the event.
Head to the 71a Gallery, Leonard St, Shoreditch, EC2A 4QS for the event.
Don't forget to RSVP!
