THE GOOGLE MAPS BACKPACK

Google are now taking applications for people to use the Street View backpack.

Called Trekker, the backpack is already being used to map the places that small hatchbacks can't get to. Now if you're involved with a “tourism board, non-profit, university, research organisation or other third party” who can get to a hard-to-reach place, Google are willing to give you the chance to use it yourself.

So if you're a particularly public-spirited member of the landed gentry, you hang out in the arctic or you've got nothing to do on your gap yaah other than swan about the plains of Africa, you should apply here to use Trekker.

Don't Panic attempt to credit photographers and content owners wherever possible, however due to the sheer size and nature of the internet this is sometimes impractical or impossible. If you see any images on our site which you believe belong to yourself or another and we have incorrectly used it please let us know at panic@dontpaniconline.com and we will respond asap.
