From the thriller-schlock director of House of Wax and Unknown, Jaume Collet-Serra brings us a new nightmare- and Liam Neeson is nowhere to be seen. The second trailer for Jaws knock-off The Shallows has emerged online. Despite its B-movie plot about a surfer stranded on a rock as a great white shark circles her, The Shallows, surprisingly, looks rather good. At least for a flick by the director of The Orphan, that is.
With the sun drenched beaches and a disheveled native unironically telling protagonist Blake Lively that the coastline setting is called “Paradise,” it appears that The Shallows actually could be somewhat fun. Not for me, however. I fucking hate sharks. When will people learn? And by people… I mean surfer bros.
