COLDPLAY PAY TRIBUTE TO DECEASED BAND VIOLA BEACH DURING GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL SET

 In February this year we heard the shocking news that Warrington-based indie quartet Viola Beach (alongside their manager Craig Tarry) died in a car crash while on tour in Sweden. The suddenness of the event, its unknown cause and the band's dashed prospects - such as releasing an album and further touring internationally - resonated with the public, sending their songs up the charts and cementing them in memory. During their Glastonbury headline slot, Coldplay reflected on their own years as an upcoming band and paid tribute to Viola Beach's memory by bringing their music to a bigger audience than they possibly could've ever imagined:
