Beef, pork, lamb, chicken, alligator and probably the odd unicorn, all cured, fried, skewered, glazed and grilled - ready to gut-bust even the most seasoned (pun intended) meat eater.
For the teams that compete for the coveted title of ‘King Of The Grill’, you can expect all stops to be pulled out. Judged over four key rounds of chicken, ribs, brisket and pulled pork, the winning team not only gets £1,000, but also a chance to attend the BBQ ‘Invitational’ in Kansas later this year.
BBQ just got serious.
And if all that eating gets a bit filling, why not watch others eat! See faces melt onto the floor in the Chilli Eating Competition and chickens cower from those who dare take on the Hot Wing Eat Off.
But it’s not just meat, there’s plenty of music that you can clap those sauce smeared hands along to. Last years musical highlights included The Traveling Band, The Suns, Honeyfeet and Riot Jazz Brass Band alongside some of the finest Americana rock, funk, blues and country sounds. This year plans much of the same with Hayseed Dixie, rockgrass originators confirmed to headline.
And how to you wash all that down? With Brooklyn’s finest draft beer of course, served in a special New York style pop up bar, with specially imported craft beers. BAM!
So don’t miss out, your belly will hate you for it.
Grillstock hits Manchester’s Albert Square 28th & 29th of June and it's not clashing with Parklife this year, Whoop!
Tickets available from http://grillstock.co.uk, and if you happen to be in Bristol, be sure to check out the organisers' restaurant: The Grillstock Smokehouse.
