Manchester's Northern Quarter is like a humble version of our London's Shoreditch. Design studios, arts spaces and offices hide amongst the red brick buildings; housing some of the north's (and the nation's) most talented young creatives. It's certainly trendy; with barely a chain in sight the streets are lined with independent shops, coffee shops, bars and arguably some of the best clubbing venues in the UK. But, in true Northern style, it's not boastful. It's not 'try hard' it's tried hard.
The Northern Quarter has always been an area of industrial hard graft. Through love and dedication from its residents, the Northern Quarter has cemented itself as a place where stuff happens... and where delicious food and drinks are served!
One of the Northern Quarter's longest standing residents is Kosmonaut. Serving a stellar menu of wine, craft beer and classic cocktails it is one of the area's hot spots for hangouts.
During the week the creative community floods in from the surrounding work spaces for post work drinks, or food from the eclectic menu. The menu offers everything from jalapeno and chedder poppers to hot dogs, curry goat to California burgers and a range of sides including kimchi, mixed pickles and sweet potato fries.
And when Friday finally arrives the venue comes alive with the chatter of spirited Mancunians and the clinking of glasses.
In addition to their top quality food and drink, Kosmonaut pays host to a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Keep an eye out for art launches and workshops, regular club nights in the basement, the monthly music quiz and even yoga classes!
