AFROMAN REVISITS BECAUSE I GOT HIGH

Afroman has just re-cut his seminal Because I Got High in the name of marijuana's medicinal benefits. He's been made an honorary spokesman for several lobbying organisations, so he thought he'd better go on one last ride at the rodeo. You listen to this song now and barely bat an eyelid, but I remember having my headteacher conducting an enraged assembly at school about it after some joker put it on in an ICT lesson.

Funny thing is, I think this song actually overshadows a lot of other great tracks he made. For example, Palmdale, perhaps the best ode to social mobility in Hip-Hop since Biggie's Juicy.

Or what about Hush, a veritable love letter to the legacy of oral histories. Afroman can really hold a tune, too.
