BEASTIE BOYS TO SUE OVER PARODY SONG

The remaining Beastie Boys are threatening to sue GoldieBlox because the toy company used a joke version of the Beastie Boys' Girls in their awesome video showing little girls using a contraption to turn off a princess TV ad. Along with Universal Music, the Beastie Boys rather humourlessly sent a letter to GoldieBlox threatening a copyright infringement claim. GoldieBlox have struck first, and have filed for a declaratory judgment in California, saying that their version is a parody and therefore protected fair use.

Cheer up guys.
