Bestival: Dress to Impress

With just the right mix of whimsicalness and surprises (like a hidden disco) as well as killer music, it’s a great weekend for most anyone. That might be why 55,000 people showed up in 2010. Hosted on the Isle of Wight, it's a three days of great fun.

The festival pretty much defines the term eclectic. The line-up ranges from The Village People to The Cure, and even includes the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (I didn’t even know we had one of those)!

Other notable stars include Pendulum, PJ Harvey, Bok Bok and DJ Shadow. There's also a throwback to the very first Bestival in 2004, with Fatboy Slim making his first reappearance since the first fateful line-up.

With an event so fun, of course dressing up is a must. In fact, last year the festival set a record with the Guinness Book of World Records for most people in fancy dress. If you’re having trouble with ideas, have no fear! There is an entire Dress Up Tent, where they can help you get dolled up.

Bring your best ideas, as Saturday is filled with competitions including most fantastic group, most fantastic individual and even most fantastic beard and moustache.

For 2011, it’ll run Thursday, September 8 to Sunday, September 11. You should feel morally obligated to check it out. Get loads more information at their deliciously designed website:
