This September, 20000 ravers are set to descend on Eastville Park, Bristol for Tokyo World – undoubtedly the most impressive day party on this year’s festival circuit.
Following a successful stint as Tokyo Dub, the Bristol institution has expanded and rebranded to incorporate a wider array of musical styles and flavours. This year’s line up is bigger than ever, with Roots Manuva, Mike Skinner, Submotion Orchestra and the Beatnuts heading the bill.
Local institution Shapes has been invited to curate the festival’s house and techno contingent, and has cut no corners in the process - Midland, Funkineven and Paul Woolford are all set to appear, alongside one of the most exciting bookings that Bristol has seen in years: the living legend that is Jeff Mills.
Of course, the line up wouldn’t be complete without a healthy dose of the good stuff that made the Tokyo Dub name: jungle, dubstep and all things bass-heavy. Highlights in this field include Digital Mystikz, Commodo, Randall, Aba Shanti-I and the Bandulu Records gang.
Tickets are moving fast, but can still be purchased online or at the Bristol Ticket Shop. Don’t sleep!
