Drum and Bass legend Goldie has announced plans to perform a huge outdoor concert at Lloyd’s Amphitheatre on the Bristol Harbourside this July.
The show (25th July 2015) will see a one-off live performance of his most celebrated and groundbreaking album, ‘Timeless’, complete with full orchestra, band, choir, electronics and guest vocalists, all courtesy of the Heritage Orchestra.
Todd Wills, Colston Hall’s Head of Programme, said: “This gig at the Harbourside will be one to remember. As one of the city’s leading concert venues, it’s great to be bringing a drum and bass legend to Bristol. This year is the 20th anniversary of Timeless, so it’s a spectacular show that deserves a spectacular setting. Staging it outdoors in Lloyds Amphitheatre, hopefully in the glorious summer sunshine, will make it really special.”
He continued: “This is a great opportunity to hear an orchestra do something entirely different to what you’d expect. Heritage is known for working with artists from outside classical music to create stunning new works, and Goldie’s landmark album provides the perfect inspiration. We wanted to put this on so that people from Bristol can come and experience something really extraordinary that normally wouldn’t be seen outside the capital or a festival.”
