DJing can mean a lot of travelling, late nights and an irregular sleeping pattern, how do you unwind and relax?

It’s very easy as I’m able to sleep in planes and hotels. DJing also gives me a lot of energy - I’m a big music lover and mixing my favourite tunes together with classics; that’s my addiction and passion. Between the gigs I am in Berlin and it’s a very peaceful city, and just lovely to live here in order to create music and to work for BPitch Control on new projects with artists. During the summer I live in Ibiza, so the combination of the sun, the sea and the wind in my hair is 100% a good energizer.

From your time Djing around the world, who has most impressed you with their DJ skills?

DJ Feadz from Paris - mixing tech-hip hop house and break beats, or DJ shadow..and of course DJ’s I love because their selection is good and the way they build up their set with a fat Steffie - Seth Troxler - Ben Klock -Craig Richard - Nina Kraviz - Jamie Jones - Rob Hall - there are so many DJ colleagues that I love to listen to…it's fantastic

Can you give us the best film(s) you have watched recently?

Director Paolo Sorrentino the great beauty – An emotional movie, it’s very beautiful and deep

What was your favourite cartoon/tv show growing up?

I’m not particularly into cartoons – but my favourites for sure are Japanese cartoons

Where is your favourite place to party?

Whats next for Ellen Allien in 2014?
