JIGSAW’S NEW <3 IMMIGRATION CAMPAIGN IS THE BEST

As our planet quickly spirals towards spiritual and perhaps literal oblivion, it’s important to cherish the positive vibes on the rare occasion they pop up. In 2017, this can even mean celebrating the marketing campaigns of large corporations (just an aside, this post is not sponsored by Jigsaw, but if they do want to spot us some cash and/or free stuff then they are more than welcome to get in touch).

High street clothing brand Jigsaw recently launched a campaign called Heart Immigration. Here you go:

The campaign, devised by creative agency The Corner, celebrates the importance of immigration in relation to the fashion industry and the wider country as a whole. As it says on the Jigsaw site:

1-reg.jpg

‘British Style is not 100% British. In fact, there’s no such thing as ‘100% British’. Or 100% Dutch, French, American, Asian or European. Whatever your opinion, at some point in your ancestry someone moved in and unsettled the neighbours. Because none of us are the product of staying put. And we’re no different.’

We’re not usually one to praise advertising in hyperbolic terms, and that’s not gonna change. Sorry. However, we will admit that seeing posters on the Underground splashed with <3 Immigration may briefly make our own <3’s warm (a bit) to this island, which is still - hopefully - more inclusive and welcoming and nice than the headlines make it appear.

Check out some more of the posters on The Corner’s website.
