Kanye West sneakily dropped two new(ish) songs on his Soundcloud last night. I say new(ish) because one is a straight re-working of the opener to 2008's 808s & Heartbreak, 'Say You Will', and the other is a lilting, autotuned warbler that sounds like it could be cut from the same album.
The latter track, called 'When I See It', uses a slightly tweaked version of the beat Kanye made for The Weeknd's 'Tell Your Friends.'
Wait a minute. That doesn't really make it 'new' at all.
There's recently been a renewed interest in 808s. The other week, Kanye performed the album in its entirety at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. Perhaps it's another case of Yeezy being a genius seven years ahead of his time, and it's only now that we proles are discovering the joys of a fully autotuned album.
Now we have to wait and see if he gets back with Amber Rose and starts rocking a mullet again.
