LOVEBOX REVEALS ITSELF ON VALENTINE'S

An imaginatively sourced line-up scopes music from indie, through dubstep, hip hop and drum and bass to techno and house. So firstly the headliners – youthful Madeon will be pleasing crowds with French pop and house, and Hot Chip fusing their geeky yet sexy blend of indie and electronic. Yet surely the showstoppers are going to be Crystal Castles whose performances of their characteristic schizophrenic yet ethereal sound, are famously electric and don't grace our shores enough.

For those who like their tunes loud and heavy, Lovebox will not disappoint as stages hosted by Rinse 106.8FM and Hospital Records supplying the likes of High Contrast to bang out liquid drum and bass and get the crowd jumping, Magnetic Man will be showing off their second album aided by their unrivalled light show, accompanied by Plastikman, Skream, N Type, DJ Zinc and many, many more.

Other acts are as diverse as a come-back set from Kelis, hotly anticipated Harlem-raised female rapper and nominee of BBC Sound 2012 Azealia Banks, funky disco from Friendly Fires, Joe Goddard's latest project The 2 Bears and soulful newbie Emile Sande.

Friendly Fires

Set in the epicentre of London cool, Lovebox isn’t just about the music and will satiate appetites for the absurd, carnivalesque and fantastical with art installations, film sets and way above-average food and drink options. With doors closing at 11, it is also a dead cert that East London’s clubs will provide enough afterparty entertainment to keep the hedonism in full swing to the early morning.

Lovebox falls on the 15th/16th/17th of June and is held in Victoria Park, Hackney, London. If you want a piece of the action, go to the Lovebox website for more information and Ticketmaster for tickets.
