Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is under fire for his band's new video for the song Animal, which has been described as a "stalkers fantasy" by a feminist organisation due to the predatory approach the usually vanilla group has taken.
The video depicts Levine breaking into a woman's house after following her, then imagining them having sex in a pool of blood, which would be creepy even without the added dialogue of "we're enemies but we get along better when I'm inside you." Considering these are the same guys who came to fame for a break up album with music videos featuring pools filled with rose petals, it's fair to say they've taken a slightly different direction - from "cliched romantic" to "serial killer".
Some weirdos seem to be approve though, with the top comment on their video stating "sexy song, reminds me of someone". Maybe their fan base has also taken a new direction, perhaps into a courtroom. For a restraining order.
I guess their PR team was struggling to see how they could bounce back after that shit song about dancing like Mick Jagger.
