OFF WE GO

Celebrated international bands are in abundance on the bill, but the festival also offers a chance to get to grips with alternative Polish music, with plenty of local talent being showcased.

Warpaint

Festival picks include the all female four piece Warpaint who will be conjuring up their special spectral alt-country and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti with their lo-fi woozy tunes complete with bodily sound effects.

Making an appearance will be Omar Souleyman. Purveyor of 500 albums, he takes dabke, traditional Arab wedding music as his starting point, adding Western dance influences to create a sound described by Bjork as ‘Syrian Techno’.

Deerhoof

Also taking to the stage are Junior Boys with their emotionally charged synth-pop, championers of chillwave Neon Indian and San Francisco’s cuddly and chaotic Deerhoof.

The OFF festival runs from 5th to 7th August. Camping tickets are a snip at between 35 and 55 Euros depending on the date of purchase. Further details can be found here.
