Marilyn Manson has only crossed my mind three times in my life. When an obsessed older sibling was going through a 'stage', when he raised Bowling for Columbine to a level of respectability, and when he had a brief cameo as a waiter in Eastbound and Down.
You'd never expect him to shock in this day and age, but he has unraveled a different kind of surprise with his new track, Third Day of a Seven Day Binge. It's utterly, achingly good. There was even a part where I thought it sounded like a glammed up Neil Young. Maybe I'm just tired.
