Few rappers have bought into their own myth quite like Rick Ross.
A self-styled drug kingpin who's owed 100 favours by Manuel Noriega himself, Rick Ross has never been one to shy away from his criminal past. So it was a real bummer when his past was revealed to be fabricated! Far from transatlantic drug deals, Ricky Rozay actually spent his formative years as a prison guard. The photo was a real treat:
While other rappers would have crawled into a hole, never to be seen again, Ross has maintained that he is a drug kingpin, even going so far as to claim his time as a guard was actually a reverse double bluff to create links with criminals on the inside or some shit. Genius! It's almost commendable. To this very day, all of his lyrics relate to pushing mad weight and being a boss, and we love it!
What's the worth of a performer if he doesn't have an outrageously over-inflated sense of theatre?
But now Ross can actually add to his 'street cred' via more legitimate means. An Atlanta news outlet reports that Ross was arrested after he pistol-whipped a worker at his home. Beating up the gardener isn't exactly Escobar-level, but you've got to start somewhere. Let's hope for his sake he doesn't run into any former colleagues if he ends up doing time.
