On Christmas day, everybody's favourite rock band Radiohead made everybody's decade by leaking a new unheard unreleased entirely brand new track entitled 'Spectre'.
Posting the track on Soundcloud, the band revealed that the song was originally recorded as a potential candidate for the new James Bond theme, humbly noting:
"It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much.
As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it."
As it turned out, the band were pipped to the post by a young warbler by the name of Sam Smith. (Edit: Apparently he's actually a fairly big deal. Best of luck to the boy. Stay in school.)
However, when asked what he thought of Radiohead's effort, Smith not only revealed that he has no clue who Thom Yorke is, but that - no Thom - as the year closes he doesn't fucking want to hear it, thank you very much:
"I actually haven’t listened to it personally", Smith grinned. A full-toothed shit-eating grin.
"Because..." he reminds us: "I did the ‘Spectre’ theme song."
As if that wasn't enough, here's a genuine photo of the moment that Smith physically belittled Yorke on stage in front of thousands at the award ceremony:
