As another summer of Croatian festivals falls upon us, it can be difficult to decide which one is right for you. Don’t Panic take a closer look at Soundwave - returning for its 8th season; a legacy that can only be surpassed by a handful of other festivals on the Croatian circuit. Set in the idyllic and enchanting Garden Resort of Tisno; it runs from Thursday 4th – Monday 8th August. You will spend five days on the Dalmatian coastline, immersed with 3000 harmonious festival goers who only have one thing on their mind – cutting loose and enjoying world-class underground music.

Soundwave is revered for its eclectic range of bookings; with music from some of the world’s finest exponents of hip-hop, drum and bass, funk, soul, dub, dubstep, afro to acid jazz, reggae and many more. It takes a slightly less travelled path to many of the regions other festivals, a little more enlightening and spiritually enriching.

The line-up has got all bases covered this year. Headliners include Pharoahe Monch – one of underground hip-hop’s preeminent lyricists with a reputation for crafting intricate and intelligent raps. Calibre – Signature Recordings label owner who has a distinctive and individual sound; producing and playing soul-filled drum and bass, taking influences from jazz, funk, dub and techno.

Live acts include Fatima and The Eglo Band – your ears will be blessed by the voice of soul star Fatima, who is joined by performers from Alexander Nut’s famed Eglo label. Gentleman’s Dub Club – who always deliverer an energetic live show, this collective are pioneers of the UK reggae and bass music scene. Other acts include Digital Mystikz’s Mala - set to return with a heavy dose of bass shaking dubstep, sure to be a perfect combination between 140 classics and lesser known underground selections. Henry Wu – hails from 22a records; his tracks take inspiration from Roy Ayers and John Coltrane, forming jazzy, soulful beats, stamped with a distinguishing style.

The latest news from Soundwave reveals the line-up for the infamous Barbarella’s after partyclub; an open air venue surrounded by pine trees and the crystal clear Adriatic Sea. The club stays open until sunrise, reminiscent of Ibiza’s glory days. Powered by Funktion One, the weekend has a series of three shows:

Friday 5th August:

Jazzanova - Alexander Nut - Chunky - Tuckshop DJs

Saturday 6th August:

Congo Natty - LTJ Bukem - Eva Lazarus - Soundcrash DJs
