TATE TRACKS - THE 3RD FIRE VS. CARL ANDRE

Written by Tate Modern

Recently the Tate Modern got together with some rather large names in music, including Klaxons, Roll Deep and The Long Blondes to work on a ground-breaking project called Tate Tracks.

The idea was that the music acts would write and record a track inspired by a work of art of their choice. Now the Tate is opening up the project so that every Tom Dick and Martha on Myspace can have a go. Genius of folly? You decide. We've gone all multimedia - check out the artwork, listen to the tracks and decide if they do each other justice. Leave your comments below.

The track on this page is by a band called The 3rd Fire who have used Carl Andre and his steel and copper plate instillation Venus Forge for their inspiration.
