On Friday 1st August, Gilles will be supported by Bristol’s own Mr Benn and seven piece brass band, Brassroots. This sold-out session will see Peterson spinning tunes from his unparalleled record collection, featuring the signature Brazilian and Cuban beats that made him a global superstar.

The event sold out in 20 minutes, but can be streamed worldwide from here. Plus you can listen to Gilles Peterson’s MixRadio Terrace Sessions mix here.

However, for anyone missing out, there are still tickets available for Crazy P who will be wowing the crowds on Friday 8th August. They will be presenting their legendary live Soundsystem shows and DJ sets that have helped them leave their mark on the landscape of British dance music for the last 15 years. This will be matched by tempo summer anthem smashes from Ill Blu, aka Dary and Jreel.

The final sold out Session will welcome Pardon My French to Colston Hall’s Terrace on Saturday 6th September. Overlooking the wondrous cityscape of Bristol, the city that has been so kind to them, they are celebrating their 5th birthday by providing provide a supplementary soundtrack of disco and house, all taken in with some complimentary cheese!

Todd Wills, Head of Programming at Colston Hall said:

“The idea behind the MixRadio Terrace Sessions is to showcase Colston Hall in the fine summer months using some amazing artists who haven’t graced the stage here before and we’re pleased that Gilles will be kicking things off”.

Suzanne Ducat from MixRadio said:

“Following the partnership last September with MixRadio and Bristol Music Trust who run Colston Hall, we have been focusing on two fundamental elements to bring this to life. The launch of the Terrace Sessions is the part of this, bringing a new kind of music to Colston Hall and the other is an ongoing music education programme called The Remix Academy. The Remix Academy has reached over 9,000 young people in Bristol helping them to discover their own musical talents. You never know, they may be on the Terrace in a few years time flying the flag for Bristol music!”

MixRadio is the world’s simplest music streaming service, bringing music lovers their own personal radio station or the choice of thousands of curated mixes.
