This man, Zero Freitas, is a very wealthy Brazilian businessman who has spent his life collecting vinyl, several million in fact. He recently share his story with the New York Times, explaining he has bought records from some of the world's biggest and famous collectors like Paul Mawhinneyand and Murray Gershenz.
“I’ve gone to therapy for 40 years to try to explain this to myself,” suggesting his obsession is tied to childhood memories of his father playing records.
Freitas has built a team of scouts in South Africa. Nigeria, Cairo, New York and Mexico City, as well as interns who help him catalogue his music.
