THE POGUES LAUNCH THEIR OWN WHISKEY

In 1987, The Pogues released 'Fairytale of New York,' an excellent Christmas song which would go on to keep Shane MacGowan in gin and tabs until the present day. In 2015, The Pogues released their own brand of Irish Whiskey, to ensure that Shane MacGowan is kept in gin and tabs until the day he meets his maker:

According to The Spirit Business:

"The Pogues Irish Whiskey is targeted towards 25 to 35-year-old drinkers and is said to be Ireland’s highest malt-containing blended Irish whiskey, with 50% grain and 50% single malt liquid."

Seems like a shrewd business decision if you ask me. But then again, you'd expect nothing less from a band smart enough to pen a song that is guaranteed a million plays every December.
